I'm sure that under basic consumer law protections there are inherent and fundamental applications of diligence and timeliness required when providing a service, irrespective of whether a service or product delivered meets certain standards. You know what i'm alluding to here too....

Had an update on the car today and sounds like Andys been flat out on my car trying his best to get it ready, but it has chucked up a few problems and hes doing his best to get them fixed. Ive been given a date of saturday 9th for the car to get delivered to me and with the communication today i feel more reassured.

Hi Steve

Spoke to you several times glad to catch up yesterday and that your comments on here were from pure worry.

We have already actioned our customer service ways and email obviously doesnt work so we will have some one in the office 4 days a week for phone calls and work management as you know one person running a business is very hard especially with current work load. After getting rid of two lads who worked for me its been hard.

We will see you next weekend with the car

Andy

Unfortunately not getting it back tomorrow.
It went down for mapping on Wednesday and had a clutch problem during mapping so Andys fitting a new one over the weekend and its going back down on Monday.
The car has had a few niggles at the finishing stage which i can imagine Andy could do without but from what i hear hes on the ball.So nearly there but not all bad news as aparently it was running great and putting out good power till the clutch went.
Also the communication from clioturbo is now fantastic with plenty of calls and emails of whats going on.Emma was kind enough to take some pics and a vid while at efi parts.
So fingers crossed for a call the start of the week with good news to say its finally finished...........then i will be at the stage where i wont sleep with excitement lol

Engine bay is looking really good. Will be painting the rocker cover and doing other bits to finish it off.

Glad to see Andy has possibly sorted out the issues with the communication.
Car looks great and I'm sure it'll be a bit mental when you get it back!

Is that with a new clutch, or a new second hand clutch? (I only ask as I'd be very surprised if a brand spanking new clutch failed straight away)

Torque and heat will kill off a brand new clutch in no time mate, especially when it's being asked to hold twice the torque figure! Assuming this is a standard of course.

@steve f you've got yourself a flying machine with those figures!!

Realistically a brand new helix paddle clutch shouldn't instantly s**t itself though. my bet is that was second hand.

Any news? Was seriously considering this until I saw this thread. Thought ClioTurbo were the dogs balls...

10 Weeks I can do with, but no more. I'd be cycling to work for 10 weeks see, I'm too lazy for that.

Once I start hearing more reliable end-products and actually having the staff to produce the product, I'll reconsider.

I think it's more than fair to comment on poor communication and long timescales for completed work but not fair to presume or suggest dodgy or substandard work without knowing the facts...all I know is I'd be bloody excited getting a 336 bhp clio back in my possesion! As long as it's reliable!:up:

Just be a dodgy clutch, s**t happens. When I worked at Camskill the amount of Exedy clutches that were returned that were brand new due to faults were unreal. We stopped using them in the end they were that s**t.
