Excellent.

High post count aswell. Roy will be impressed...

Some p**n for you Gally.

Replaced the front ant rear "H" badges (complete pig of a job as they really didn't want to come off) Japanese badge tape clearly superior to the German and French stuff I've dealt with in the past. I didn't bother taking pictures of the rear but it was in the same shape as the front so really letting the car down.

Here's a before, pink/faded badge and plenty of built up s**t and stained paintwork around the edge built up over its 12 year life.

After, deep red and all the paint around the badge nice and clean again.

A bit of a comparison of the new and old.

So fresh mate!

New back plate and rear badge on mine this week. :)

Pics Scotland?

I'll probably attack those eGay Volks stickers at some point this week and replace them with the genuine ones I've got sat ready to go on.

Nope, won't be either. NA all the way for this, if the engine sees any major work it'll be headwork, cams etc and/or B18 conversion.

Was only joking ;)

Sounds like you're proper committed to it mate. Fair play. I've only skim read most of the thread and perused the pics, but I did lol at the "overnight parts from Japan" comments.

I'll grab a few. The back badge is in poor nick and the front one came with the new front grille.

Looking forward to seeing it freshened up.

Hope to see more pics with the new stickers et al. Any smaller bits to go on?

No more bits to go on at the moment, my Mac needs retiring and the 27" i7 that'll be replacing it will wipe me out for a while so unfortunately aside from a service and detail it'll be a while before much work happens on it. I'm pretty set on tucking it away for the winter too so will have to find myself a £200 ish s**tter to run while it's hidden in the garage.

Good man! I feel mine being garaged over the winter this year. We had some serious weather up here last winter.

The car has been in Reading ans Sussex since it left the factory so it got a wake up call last winter!

Mine's never seen a British road in the winter so no associated salt/grit damage on either the underside or running gear. Can't bring myself to subject it to it regardless of whether I underseal it or not as lets face it it's not just the bodywork that ends up in a state running through winter.

As Gally loves a tease here's the before and after of the wheels with the crappy Ebay stickers and then with the genuine ones refitted as I finally got round to peeling them off a couple of days ago.

So much better mate. Those wheels actually bend those desmonds over and bum rape them!

Perfect mate. I fitted couple of new badges and rear plate today, looks so much better....

Fresh set of plates always help a cars looks no end IMO, mine are new anyway as the car used to be on a cherished plate prior to me buying it. I've got some pressed Japanese plates to throw on so depending what I'm upto at the weekend if the weather behaves I'll try and drag the car somewhere switch them over and take a few shots to keep you happy ;)

It gets easier the more you use it. Take it from someone that knows!

Hell I should be more worried about rust than you!

I should hope so as mine's not seen salt/grit in it's life as yet. Hence why I'm not going to subject it to a British winter undersealed or otherwise, everything ends up crusty/scabby when you drive it year round even if you're vigilant with cleaning arches and the underside of the car.

Oh trust me it's even worse than that, each letter was seperate so I had to gently ease a razorblade under the edge of each one (Rays Engineering-Volk racing wheel) to remove them. 1.5 hours I was faffing about removing them and cleaning up the spokes before refitting the OEM ones, FML.

Not on stickers though. Maybe glue residue after the sticker is off.

LOL. Nightmare.

Coming together nicely mate.

huh? ever heard of tardis?

I don't have any Tardis

Don't own a heatgun and as my hair is a No 1 all over I don't own a hair dryer either.

Razor Blade was fine, if I'd piled in trying to remove them in 5 minutes I'd see your point but I think it's fairly apparent from the length of time I took removing them that I was careful not to mark the wheels.

Once off the residue was removed with bug and tar remover then SRP applied prior to the new stickers going on.

Looking back at the comparison, I can't believe how much better the genuine one's look. I also can't believe that I didn't realise they were fake one's when Jason had the car!

Good shout on keeping it garaged over winter, I don't think he even took it out in the rain, lol!

You're right he didn't, I'm not being quite that precious about it as it's clearly lived outside while it was in Japan and hasn't suffered for it but the Salt/Grit is where I draw the line.

The FRP spent it's life in a garage with Ford then both owners after lived in Surrey/Reading.

Got a bit of shock at winter when it realised it had 4 feet of snow to deal with!

It had such an easy life before I got her!
