At least its not restrictive!!! ;).... Sorry mate I'm running this also need to have a good look at this. Im certain when i bought it a while back it had a Ramair sticker on the packaging.
Were those plugs put in when you had the headwork done?

New track rod ends, ball joints, wishbones if they need doing, polybushed dog bone mount, service
Should freshen up the front end hopefully.
Absolutely, mate - it should feel great. :D

I was looking at the pictures earlier on the BTM Facebook page actually. At least you no about it now, looking forward to see how the new engine does :)
Cheers Joe - not the nicest of viewing were those pictures!

4,3,2,1 were
9,10,12,11

f**king 81nm on a spark plug (well that's what my snap on digital torque wrench said! I don't normally use it to undo things but after using a 2ft breaker bar to undo the first plug i thought i would check!)
Cheers Fred - couldn't remember which cylinders were producing which results. Definitely room for improvement there!

I saw that filter on Facebook and wondered who's it was!
Plenty of life left in that filter ;)
Guilty and LOL!

No mate - the plugs have been changed since then (for new items). They got took out by my mate's garage when I last had it in for a compression test.

That filters shocking Andy! Glad it's all getting sorted though will be a peach when done :)
Thanks James - very disappointed with the filter as you'll no doubt gather, but happy it's being sorted out now.

who changed the plugs and done them to that amount?
It will have been someone at my mate's garage where I last took it to get compression tested.

Tarzan on crack?
Very possibly at 81NM....

I know! 2ft breaker bar on the first then checked the second with the techwrench, don't know how accurate it is but its a bit more than 28nm!

That pipercross one is still not great for flake but it's the only one I'd use! Instead of something made at half the production value for some tin pot company.

Hang about, is that my filter? Cheek!! ;)

Filter of Death V2 lol.

Glad to see the Trophy is finally in good hands though!!
LOL! Yeah, but this time I'm not planning on hanging around to see what v3 is like... :)

Funnily enough I hear that several parts have gone missing from your car recently. God knows where they're going to end up. Er, what condition is your steering wheel in? Just asking... ;)

I've just done "the torch test" on my ITG one and it's perfect still even after being covered in PAS fluid and engine oil!
Glad to hear it's still in good condition and working well despite the unexpected fluid bath.

On a related note, I've had a few messages from folk stating that there is no problem with the filter and that I have it installed badly. That the problem is because the filter is rubbing on the bonnet or on some part of the chassis. That I haven't looked after it properly. FFS peeps give me a break. Re-read my thread. The car gets looked after. It's not rubbing on ANYTHING; it has quite simply disintegrated. Yes, it's been cleaned and treated with ITG's spray, etc. In a nutshell it (the filter) is really poor. I don't want to badmouth folks or businesses or products... but this is the second time I've had this happen with two different filters. So please, no long drawn out arguments. :D

I never knew a bonnet can wrap all the way around filter.

Andy I'm genuinely quite upset now. I bet you said just knick it off Mike's car he can fcking wait. Where are your morals?

x :D

Does it matter? Engines don't really like eating alu filings they tend to ruin them a little bit.

Remember this filter is sourced from ITG or elsewhere, it doesn't matter. They're being made to a cost in order for someone to make profit on. Why bother when you can buy a solution direct from the people that ACTUALLY manufacture them - like ITG or Pipercross. You'd be surprised at how much these f*ckers suck in as well, the more space there is between the element and the trumpet the better

Yeah, exactly... not any bonnet I've seen! :D

Don't worry mate - your car is quite safe. Admittedly it's now parked a few streets away to make room for mine but don't worry as there's a group or three of kids who said they'd keep an eye on it. I wrote your name on the driver's door with my keys so there'd be no confusion who the car belongs to... :D My morals? They went 'the way of the filter!'

project looks like its coming along well,
ah so it was your filter on facebook, hell....

glad my hyundai ITG filter sits well away from my ITB's
(actually about 200miles away).

I wouldn't put any of that past him so don't even joke!!!! lol
It's quite safe mate - no need to worry at all. I'm 51% certain that it wasn't your car I saw parked up just as I pulled off the M42 on my way to drop off the car. He's obviously a busy guy with not much parking space. :D

Yep - sadly it was my filter you've seen; not pretty. With that sort of distance between the bodies and the filter I expect to see some impressive torque figures given the length of trumpets you'll be running!

Badumtisch!
Ditto. :D

Well I'd imagine it won't be far off yours dependant on what cams you have lined up mate
Yeah, it won't be shy mate and probably not too different results once all done. But I don't want no willy-waving in here! As long as it drives well and puts a smile on the face... For the cams, I luckily had a set of rather wild Schricks just sat doing nothing so they are going in. They should make for an interesting idle until it gets mapped! LOL! :D

January 2013 - Wednesday 23rd

Just a quick one... I've just had word through that another issue has been found that certainly wouldn't have helped the car's performance over the last year or so. :( If you hadn't already guessed, Fred has found that the cam timing is out. *sigh* Without wanting to sound overly dramatic it really has left me more than a bit annoyed; especially considering the money that has been spent trying to resolve my problems and the amount of time I was without the car whilst it was being done. There's no point in getting angry and stressed - far worse things happen at sea - but, for me personally, the list of people I'd trust my car with shrinks by the day. Oh well, you have to laugh, eh? :D Onwards and upwards!

If who I think actually timed it up, timed it up, I'm not least bit surprised. Your head was chopped out for a new one wasn't it Andy? (Sounds painful)

Surprised they didn't snap to be honest.

I torque my Mini wheels to 60nm! Fiesta wheels are 100nm I think! :O

I've followed pretty much the same route as you Mike so yes, it is very likely those very people. With regards the head it was taken to their workshop and acid-dipped and skimmed. It's still the original head. I have to say that I have some genuine concerns over what has (or hasn't?) been done now. Sounds painful? Yes, it has been although I appreciate in a different sense to what you were inferring! :)

Re: the cambelt timing, mine was wrong from the factory, must be a Trophy thing lol:

http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?521559-JMS-cambelt-timing-fixed!!

Or you've just been using non-specialiast, specialists ;)
Blimey - timing out from factory, eh? That's a bit special in itself. I had no idea. But in this case, your closing statement may be closer to the truth than I like to admit. :D

Yeah, I think I might have got away with that one thankfully. I would have been well pi$$ed otherwise!

I'll just pop up these pictures for now that I received from Fred earlier. I think the picture below also shows a great job of the fixes that were made to stop the leaks I had. Twice. Which never fixed any leaks.

if the marks on my pulleys had been lined up my timing would of been miles out when it came to fitting the horseshoe tool, i think they just dot random marks on the pulleys and head
