LOL - well up this part of the world we have just got "the technology" ;-)

I had two full chat runs in 5th through le source and eau rouge in the whole day and was pulling 130 on the following straight, the rest of the time I was having to back off for fear of rear ending someone up the hill... Piers had a lucky escape, as I was debating going around the outside for about a mili-second and then the kerbs made a lot more sense.

One thing that people might not realise is that the corner at the top of the hill has moved, so you have about an extra 40 metres run down the hill and you are pulling some BIG speed into the bottom, I was too busy looking for traffic to look at the speeds, but it was going some in freefall down that hill and in 5th.

What engines in this? Looks rapid.

One of our own packages.

P.S.

its just been pointed out - I was two up as well. lol

The one you watched in the hotel room is the one to use as markers, also - get the circuit guides from circuit driver.

I still think I can go quicker, maybe 3 seconds+, I just need more time and the other exhaust, it lacks punch with that exhaust on it, but I wasn't going to do 2000 miles with the race one on there... the tyres are also worth pointing out - toyo proxy T1-R's. With semi slicks or slicks there is probably another 5 seconds in a lap (I am guessing, but I would think that it would be about that.)

Its a joke!

What you do is read what you said and factor in my response.
Then hopefully you laugh and we move on.

Yoz that is a vast amount of time saving! you sure?

well we'll have to meet up one weekend soon and view the footage from our car and yours and see where I can improve on. Next time I'm a Silverstone I'm going to ask Scott to give me a few lessons as I really struggled on Spa.

What surprised me on the day was the fact Jon's Willy was faster than pretty much everything else there on the straights, even the V6's, but on cornering we were losing out big time... partly down to shot rear tyres and having the balls to take the corners faster, but the lines aren't as obvious at Spa imo, I saw 3 different lines into eau rouge on the day lol

oh, I'll also edit the video for you if it's that bad too! Adobe Premier is your friend!

Tom - wasn't having a go, just having a slow day... lot on my mind at the moment... and what the hells up with you showing as a forum user you pikey? ;)

Fair play, the line variations you speak of are almost certainly down to track knowledge and ability. See if you can find a decent up to date circuit guide, they usually shed alot of light on lines.

Thats look impressive,,, but better when you are in it for real.. I went for a few laps in it at the French car show and it was unreal

... Go Yozzasport lol

Well with the quiet exhaust we are down about 5HP, 5th gear lacks the guts that it normally has - it is affected most for some reason.

I am pulling 5th 4 times in the lap - down the hill on the start finish I think if I can get more speed on the downhill before eau rouge then as I go up the hill I will stay in the power band in 5th, meaning that I will get a better run down to Les Combes, I think there is about a second to be made up there, I know I can do better in Rivage, but I hit traffic nearly every lap, meaning I was either coming in on a duff line and trying to hit the apex from a mid entry rather than an early/wide or I was running into people on the way out and was having to back off between the left hander out rivage (before the downhill). Pouhon I don't think I can do much better apart from maybe not brake as hard on the way in, just let the car go a bit more and get on the power earlier. I am pulling 5th again before Fagnes (more power would again help) I don't think I can go through there much quicker, but there is time to be made up between there and Stavelot. I am then flat to the bus-stop and again that bit of extra power would have been great, but again I was hitting traffic nearly every lap as people were lifting / braking for Blanchimont? The new bus-stop I think needs me to just do more laps and to find the best way through. Slow Slow Slow through the right I am told is the best way, and then be on the power all the way through the left. La Source I might be able to get a quicker exit speed which again will help with the power band coming up the other side...

The tyres - definately time to be made up at les comber, Rivage I think as much as a second could be clawed there, the sidewalls just roll on these T1-R's and Fagnes, again its the speed on the right hander before stavelot that I think will carry all the way to the bus stop, and then again, more to be made up in the bus stop with good rubber.

  Whichever has fuel
Great vid, It seems it makes all its torque/power at the top of the rev range? just judging by the pace in which it overtakes the other stuff...

oh, and excellent choice of music!

  Lionel Richie
that was the thing fubar, in the english briefing everyone was told to overtake on the left only, it seems they didn't tell the european lot the same as they were overtaking on the left and right and so were the instructors, so all the english guys followed their lead!
