Going to look at an old T5 Caravelle on Friday, with the 2.5 5 Cylinder engine (174bhp, AXE).
Of course I’ve got in all a tizz after reading about worn camshafts, leaking injectors, leaking exhaust manifolds and all the other known issues with them. This one has low relative miles on it (106k) and has done very little miles in the last 5 years, (which is probably a bad thing).
I think I will look at it and check the service history, 10k mile oil changes would be reassuring. It’s going to be a weekend camper thing for us, so not relying on it, but at the same time can’t be arsed ripping it apart (well, not straight away)
Has anyone on here got any sage words of advice on these? Looking on the Dubber forums it’s all doom and gloom.
