fellow clio drivers you may be suffering from CHS

due to my January being a total Renault disaster(please see previous posts) i am now left with a serious condition....cliohysteriasyndrome CHS for short, its a common condition often going undiagnosed mostly due to it being very rare.
symptoms are paranoia of rattles, shakes temperature and general performance.its rare because most cases of suspect noises, engine performance are usually founded.
in my case its definitely CHS.
my latest case was being convinced my timing had been set incorrectly, after 4 weeks and a 1600 quid rebuild,5 return visits at around 400 miles and 2 days off work.
my 182 is fine,its me
i have been told by the doc to cover as many miles as possible and the symptoms will gradually fade and confidence in my new car will grow......

Don't count on it tbh...;)

all i can gather from my renualt experiences is whilst theyre working they are great, they must be to put up with all the shite that comes as a package

The last three cars I bought before my Clio were Peugeots, so it seems quite frankly marvellous in comparison! :rasp:

I have noticed a strange speed-related noise in the last few days though... I don't think it's just road noise, but it only starts, quietly, at 60ish... :S

did you get the timing checked then?

 no.
it was me being a complete faggot and thinking its was buggered again!they advised me to take it easy for 300 miles or so to run it in,its covered nearly 400 now and today i gave it some beans on a run home from work and i was very happy with it,it pulls very well in upper rev range which i just didnt really try,im afraid im just so paranoid about it breaking again im even scared to have some fun! i spent all sunday nearly on the m6 with the cruise at 75mph and the AA on speed dial just to get some miles on it!
today though i gave it a good blast through 2nd 3rd n 4th and it went very well,so surely everything is ok?

ooooo hard to say its very likely some kind of mechanical issue but also youre a long term french car owner so the possibilty of CHS is very high.....
