the general view from a certain car audio forum is that the infinity basslink is quite good for what it sets out to do. It wont be stupidly loud but will provide enough bass for a basic install
Im 19, got my 1.4 2004 Clio last year at 18 and I paid £2450 for insurance!
And that was the best possible quote, we looked everywhere! Damn you first car/south London insurance prices!!
If the grills themselves are rattling, I was reccomended some sealant round them to stop it, this will be difficult to get off though. Or soundproof the panels if they are resonating...
This is what Im going to do to my 1.4 2004 Clio once I get everything together...
Why are there so many sh*tty people in the world, someone drove into my car while it was parked. Its been parked there everysingle day for about a year and its a quiet cul-de-sac...they smacked my rear wing/wheel arch and drove off.....320 quid to fix it......absolute w**kers....nobody saw...
Id go for the 10, a Clio is so small even a 10 will make it shake...
Im going for an 8 in mine, although im kinda cheating as its a Elemental Designs, only 2 in Uk competion sq sub....I was in a Range Rover with it in and it sounded so good, its known to be lower than a 12 but as fast as a 8...
drove home last night at about 10:00 pm on untreated roads, and it was just wheelspinning all the way, in 2nd at any throttle....not good on narrow, car lined roads!
maybe my clio is not as well put together as other peoples, as even with non amped door speakers on loud, they door pannels rattle too much for my liking....
Firstly, upgrade your headunit, a decent one can be had for around £150 ish.
Then upgrade your front door speakers to some good components, these range in price from 50 to 1000 quid for the pair!
Then, get a sub in the boot, size will be dependent on what music you like and the sound you...
Im also wondering where to put my amps....Damn you fabric rear seat backs!
How have other people done it in their Clios? Or where else have you put your amps?
Soon I will be starting to put in all my audio...shall I buy a haynes manual to help me to this? Im mainly interested in how to get door panels/boot panels etc off and other little tips...
anyone used one for audio help, or is it more of a case of "tug and hope" :)
components will cost more but if you put coaxials in, you will have to many tweeters and it will sound rubbish.
ps. im basing my opinion on my car, which is a 04 with tweeters in the dash. if you have an older car without said tweeters, then they wont be so bad
In my opinion dont get coaxials, even if you get components and leave rhw standard tweeters in, or whatever. As I bought coaxials as i thought changing tweeters would be too hard and they probably wouldnt make a difference...so i bought 2 pairs of coaxials, so now I have 6 tweeters in the car -...
this is my main problem with my install, i need some boot space, my sub box is 23 inches by 12 deep and I want it to look good without the effort of false floors and things :(
