Hi all - does anyone have any tips on changing the headlight? I've done most of it, but without taking the light 'unit' off - is this possible, and if so, what do I need to do to remove it?
Thanks
Youd be royally screwed if your dad decided he didnt want you on his insurance any more!!
And if you crash and claim on your parents policy, it means that every age brackets insurance average premium will go up to compensate.
And when you move into your own house, are you really going to...
I got told my reg about a week before - I had to know it to get insured and the cover note sent to the dealers etc etc - would never have happened in less than that I doubt!
Just phoned up for my settlement figure, £6240, which isnt bad...
What im wondering, is whether the car is worth more or less than that...

all the usual malarky really - 1.2 16v engine, with 13,000 miles. Was regd on 1st...
Mate Ive found that online quotes are really poo - just give the main ones a ring (direct line, norwich union direct)
If you shout at the operator itll be a 10% discount before you start!
^^^ Agreed.
Although, as said before, unless they get some proof, like by doing a test, they cant really do a lot....
And as for renault supplying them/being legal, the laws could be different in Europe; this may be where the confusion lies?
What would happen then if you needed to claim on insurance with too many miles? Ive put 12k, done nearly 14k with 4 months to go!!
I need to get it amended methinks!
They didnt ask my insurance to start with, but it was brand new on the day I started insurance... they might be able to guess!
Yeah but then you get people like my dad whos been driving for 37/38 years and never had to claim. That (at a way-below-average guess) works out at 37 x £200 p/a premium = £7,400. This is ignoring inflation/interest etc etc.
How many people in the UK are like this? Quite a lot I would say...
Problem is, if you live in an area where everyone knows each other (like I do, in a small village), people drive by and see you in your car with numberplate, and all you can see is a hand waving at you, but unless you know their car, it makes you look like an ignorant tw*t for not knowing who...
Im not looking forward to this, got to change my insurance from living in a country house in a very nice village 10 miles out of the city, to parked in an apartment block car park (even though it has a 24 hour guard and fences etc) right in the centre of the city!
Uh-oh...
Mate just dont get a 1.4 and expect to be able to insure it FC!! I had an L reg fiesta as my first car 2/3 years ago, 1.1 engine, and insured it TPFT, because thats all I could afford!
Please, for your sake only mind, think about downgrading the car, and insuring it in your own name, even if...
I love my car - nothing gone wrong with it so far (although Autoglass did try and ruin that for me!).
I cant fault the sales/aftersales commitment as well - I know nearly a year on its not very often that I hear from Renault, but I certainly appreciated the constant contact they gave me last...
As I mentioned before, its not your right to drive a powerful car (and a 1.6 IS a powerful car, at least in the eyes of insurers), you have to drive a low-powered car first, its all about practice!
This is why insurance companies reward you for driving a low-powered car and not crashing it -...
