this may sound odd, but have a look at the carbon canister solenoid under the drivers headlight, we had a few which made a ticking noise which increased with revs and sounded very much like the tappets, you could clearly hear it when you are sat in the car without radio etc on
for me personally i live on the edge of the town boundarys, ie if i turn right onto the DC theres lots of fields and small country roads, if i turn left theres just housing estates etc right until you hit town centre, so a mix for me tbh
yes and as a road car a standard 172/182 is more then fast enough, with so many variable road conditions and risks of being banned or having a accident i dont see the point in spending a fortune on them to make them faster,
no one is saying you cant have fun in a clio on the road at all as...
def agree that spending on mods is nearly always a loss, but then most of us have these cars as hobbies etc as such, so obviously generally we say sod it why not, could be wasting it on some other s**t or just pissing it up a wall and having only a hangover and shoes covered in piss n sick to...
for me personally i prefer to mess about with my trackcar(mk1 16v clio), ok it may not be the fastest or best handling car in the world but its alot of fun even if modified, i started out with it standard but got bored eventually and started messing lol but i get the chance to push it hard on...
had no issues at all with my 182 in over 2 years of ownership, but if i had a ST id be looking at the jamsport supercharger kit imho, there a cracking car the ST just lack alittle bit of poke!
so what power was the evo running?? and agreed on the GTR, cant wait till my mates arrives, will be blagging a lift at least lol
is your car std engine wise, i noticed you had the airbox that looks like the espace one, although wasnt 100% sure tbh
yeah the black r26 was certainly motoring all day, the white evo 10 and nissan gtr were also flying about all afternoon! was good to watch them sliding around the chicane before druids!
the dephaser on the K4M engine was really bad, that was a everyday job, but i think we only ever changed a couple of F4R dephasers, usually down noisey operation.
cool, i remember seeing you both out on track, think either i had just came out or was just going in most times though!
was only my 2nd time at oulton and first time i had no issues there lol either broke down before i got there or like the 1st time there misfires galore(old engine/car set-up...
as above, saw 2x ph1 172s(silver and red) aswell as a trophy and a few clio cup race cars.
anyone off here??
i was there in the black/orange mk1 hybrid, struggled with grip all morning it was greasy as!, was alot better when it started throwing it down later on!!
really like the seats fantom, wouldnt mind something simular in mine, do they fix to the std runners or have you had to have some made up/supplied by cobra etc??
also i guess you have put some resistors into the airbag wires etc
im 6'2 and find the seats are abit to high, i can drive the 182 long distance(nurburgring etc) and get minor backache, but would like to sit lower down, i found driving to nurburgring in my hybrid trackcar(sparco bucket seats) alot comfier as im lower down aswell as sat properly!
@fantom have...
lol this is just the usual comparisons and will be a never ending debate tbh, it was the same with the clio 16v to williams, williams to 172, 172 to 182, now 182 to 197!! ( untill the next clio RS is released clio 207ps but actually 190)
i currently own a 182 and driven loads of 197's when i...
used to get ppl coming up to me all the time when i had the williams, could be at the petrol station/supermarket/garage etc
so far thats never happened with the 182, but i do still get it with the hybrid trackcar, but being black/orange it stands about abit!
i used to own a mk1 saxo VTR in silver, was the very first 97 model VTR! loved it when it worked lol had alot of gearbox issues with mine, went through 3 in 2 year
def worth upgrading the front brakes, you can fit the 206gti std set up under the 14" vtr wheels too, 260mm (*ish) fun little...
very nice 182 there!
i have a 04reg in artic blue aswell and had been tempted to modify it but managed to stop myself!! love how yours sits with the new wheels and AST's, luckily i have a mk1 hybrid tracktoy to stop me going down that route!!
