Nice motor, I went for the D over the I due to the fact I had just jumped out off a 8mpg Scooby so wanted to see some improvement, having the D remapped has made the biggest gain i've felt in a car from a simple map! 284bhp to 350hp then take the DPF off and have the map tweaked again its not up to 380bhp and 730nm

BMW checked the car on Friday and confirmed it was the AC Compressor (it's under warranty, just have to wait 2 weeks to get booked in).

Drove to the coast at the weekend, the whine got worse and then suddenly it sounded like something came loose while driving home.

It now sounds like this:

I'm not moving it until they send a tech to my house. Fortunately I have another car to use or I'd be screwed for work.

I hope this topic is enough to show a 335i NEEDS a warranty.

No problems since April. Waterpump was replaced under warranty (local indi quoted £995, so no idea what BMW would have cost).

I'm always looking to replace it, still no idea what I want though, so it'll stay for now.

I would buy one and swap it for the Missus scirocco, but my boss had one and had so many problems, I couldn't afford the BMW Warranty too!

That's a lovely photo, but I think your slacking a bit. That grass is way too long for your usual standard, I thought we would have had the mower in the boot.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is absolutely spot on. Wish I could afford one :(

Took it to a RWYB day yesterday (it's only 8 miles down the road, so I should go more often).
I managed to get 12 runs in throughout the day. Missed a couple of gears. I'm not sure what times I should be getting, but I didn't strip anything out and had more than 1/2 tank of fuel, obviously standard.

My quickest time was 13.63 @ 102mph (video below). I was up against a 135i that managed a 13.2 @ 107mph (he said his was stock too, I guess it's lighter?).

0-60mph times weren't always tracked, but my best was 5.36s on my 5th fastest 1/4 run.

Overall a really good day, and has made me think about getting a JB4/Cobb for it.

My best 3 runs:

The strip is fun isnt it. Is yours standard mate?
Yep, mine is standard. They are ~301 - 306bhp standard (depending on where you read) and 0-60 in 5 - 5.5s. It feels quicker, but I reckon it's pretty spot on.

If my 0-60 time on my 5th quickest run was 5.3s, I reckon my best 0-60 was 5.1s that day.

In hindsight I should have gone with no fuel and took the crap out of the boot/child seat etc.

Well you took the number plates off, so there was that bit of weight saving!! 🙈

Went out in another 335i tonight that had a JB4 and Meth. F**k me. Seriously unreal.

Driving mine home felt like a 325i. I need a JB4.

Lovely noise.

Will be calling BMW today. Possibly water pump? Strange it happens before I even unlock the car though.

Lovely car. Mine looks identical bar the badge on the back.

What suspension is it on? I'm about to purchase a Bilstein B12 Pro setup, as my dampers feel knackered on the rear, bottoms out a lot and wallows.

I cant hear it in work but if it's before you start the car surely its more likely to be the fuel pump?

It could be yes, I read that it could be the waterpump, as it's 'prepping the system' before the car starts.

I've no idea. It's now booked in at BMW, 10th November 😧

Bad news.

Finished work, went to unlock the car, and it's dead, no power to it. Managed to get in with the key, but there's no power.

So, whatever the noise was has now drained my battery during the day.

BMW are coming to my office at 8.30am to diagnose (they offered 90 mins, but I'd already arranged a lift home).

As bad as it is, that's some service. You make me feel for every 335i ownwr every time I drive past one. (or them past me is more likely..)

Edit. Just heard the sound. What a charming noise. God knows what that is.
