Where would you buy a PS3 console from these days?
The cost for a new one is almost the same as a PS4. I own a PS4, I want a PS3 to go play some oldies that I missed - they're pretty cheap used, but I don't like the idea of buying a console via eBay...
That's one of the reasons why I prefer PCs. I spotted that GOG were offering Master of Magic for pence the other day - a game I played loads of at uni over 20 years ago.
Pay the pence - download it - and it just works. Obviously there's dubious shelf-life in a game of this age - but at least I have that choice. Given how cheap the hardware is on the previous generation consoles - all manufacturers should be able to support at least one generation prior - in terms of games and peripherals. Nintendo had it right with the Wii that had the Gamecube (?) ports on it. Ironically given what I just said - I never actually used that part (!) - but the option was there if I had previous gen games and controllers.
