Misses A3, bought it in April and its been brilliant.

Replaced the standard HU for a Android Auto/Apple CarPlay unit, which cost a pretty penny but well worth it. Just means she can actually take calls in the car without worrying about having a phone on the dash etc.

Only problem we've had with it is the throttle pedal, had an intermittent engine light which turned out to be the throttle position sensor. £65 had a genuine Hella item on It's way, straightforward to remove and refit. Even made her fit the new one 😂

Does anybody know how to adjust the doors? The passenger door catches the wing at the bottom, just.

Found the wheel wobble issue. Thickness difference (max to min) measured across 5 points on each spacer:

Spacer 1 - 0.025mm
Spacer 2 - 0.035mm
Spacer 3 - 0.008mm
Spacer 4 - 0.718mm

Apologies for the lack of spreadsheet

I’ve asked them to confirm their drawing tolerances. Find it difficult to believe one can be so far out…. Even if they were machining by hand, you’d expect them to clock up.

This makes the third time I’ve taken the wheels off aswell now. Doesn’t sound like much, but they’re a pain in the arse given how much they weigh.
I still want the spacers back on though. Looks horrific with the wheels sunk into the arches.

Standard is usually +/- 0.2mm, those are well out.

That’s really really poor. I did my apprenticeship in a machine shop and our tolerances whilst we were using the machines for the first time were stricter than what you’ve actually paid for!

Ridiculous isn’t it.
Only reason I’ve asked for the tolerance is in case they get a bit shitty about them being used now.

Make sure youre not measuring on an indentation on the back as the disc screws can bed into them

This is my daily and MTB chariot
Bought as a panel van with rear seats fitted just before i collected it for the little en and retrimmed blue tartan heated seats

Carpeted inc the front bulkhead and pillar trims during lockdown
Then i managed to get a set of 4 genuine front Lamborghini Gallardo Speedline cassiopa from work, inc new centre caps and genuine titanium wheel bolts
Golf R brakes then fitted along with the rear windows and Hertz components to match the pioneer android apple car play head unit

Going to be having the golf gti tfsi engine fitted this year to save me being charged £10 a day thanks to Andy bloody Burnham and his clean air charge malarkey

Been a while since we had an update.

Bought a trailer which had ‘been serviced recently’ which required s**t loads of work.
Managed 25mpg towing the Clio over to Snetterton the other week. Didn’t die even though I never did my test

Only observations are:
- trackdays are much better when you arrive and leave in comfort
- sticking to 60mph really does make the other drivers around you do stupid things

Had the new engine fitted in this yet?

Very jealous of your rig. That’s a cracking setup.

Thanks bud!

Honestly I’m at the point now where I’m just after any excuse to transport stuff around. It’s sad as f**k, but it satisfies some childish part in my brain driving round pretending I’m driving a big rig.

Not quite sure how, but managed 27 to the gallon heading over to Cadwell last month.

Auto or manual?

I don't wanna go full "not your problem", but you can't know the new owner didn't drive it home yesterday, unfamiliar with the car and did something stupid gearing wise.

Manual, I'm gutted as the guy was spot on and it really is just bad luck.

Not to knock the guy but he was used to an auto and he did continually set off in 2nd/3rd from junctions on the test drive but still i feel guilty AF, poor b*****d.

Looks decent that. Not the most exciting car on the planet, but looks smart and I bet it eats miles like nobody's business. Had an A6 as a rental a couple of years ago and liked it.

Exactly, it didn't need to be anything more than a newer, safer means of ferrying my family around.

It’s just one of them things I guess. Only gonna become more common with the way things are going too.
My old man’s had a nightmare with his F11 but I had absolutely no trouble whatsoever with my E61.

It’s 500 notes for a new Arnott shock/bag assembly from Euros which I don’t think is too bad. Can get a pair for less than that on eBay but I can’t imagine them being amazing quality given they’re Hong Kong specials

I’m just happy I’ve actually managed to find the leak, as it’s been doing my nut in for a while.

Lovely colour that. Welcome to the club 😍
What’s the spec?

It’s DSG which was a requirement. I’m not 100% sure on the rest to be honest, would be interesting to see if you can find out from vin#. All I know is it has the digital dash and I believe dcc (The dampers have some sort of solenoid on them).

It’s got a lot newer tech than I am used. Apple car play is a game changer to me. Wish it was wireless though if I had to be picky.

I purchased another 7.5 GTI back in March, this time in Tungsten Silver.

Had the car checked over by Awesome and had them do a full service including the DSG gearbox. PS5's fitted to the front also (PS4's on the back with plenty of tread still).

I was back at Awesome on Friday to have some Eibach springs fitted, along with spacers and a TCR backbox. It really had livened the car up with no compromise to the ride quality. The exhaust had added a little bit more character now too, but still sounds OEM when pootling around at low revs.
