Possible sighting of @Richard_UK heading north bound just now around Exeter?
Don’t see many viper green A1s about and read that you’d said you were down this way this week.
So my hand me down iPhone 5 from the wife isn’t finally giving up on life, camera is broken and generally not a happy phone.
Want to replace it but not sure what with so as is the rules I came straight here to ask.
Options I have are to stick with the same sort of format and go with an SE, I...
So after way too many years of not getting around to it I've started to scan in some of the motorsport pics my father took back in the mid 70s.
There aren't many in the set of prints I have, and only done a couple to start with. I've got 3 boxes of pictures and negatives to sort through at...
Ok so the question has a pretty obvious answer but bear with me :)
In need of something to replace a netbook that we currently use when away and it'd be useful for me when away with work rather than carting my personal laptop with me as well as my work one.
Usage is mostly web browsing, but a...
So I've started a new job and need to pick myself a new phone for work.
Whilst it's subsidised I've got to purchase the handset unless I want to go with just the company basic which is a Nokia C5 I believe.
Having a look and the options are an iPhone, Blackberry or an HTC Android handset.
Now...
Want to get myself a Wifi Kindle, which would you go for out of the current standard one or the soon to be released Touch?
The Touch does have the increased storage and battery life, it's a little chunkier and whilst it looks nice to not have buttons everywhere I prefer the slimmer bezel etc of...
Using my MBP last night and the down arrow cursor key just decided to pop off.
No problem I thought will just clip it back on, accept looks like the little plastic pegs are broken.
I can pop into a store on Thursday so can make an appointment to see someone then, but does anyone know if...
So I'm new to Micro 4/3s and have got a GX1 with the X 14-42 lens.
I want to pickup a fast prime and am pretty set on the 20mm.
My problem is I don't really have a style of shooting, or specific things I shoot, to make the choice easy/obvious!
I guess it'd be nice to use it for general shots...
I'm looking to buy a compact systme camera in the next week or so, and was pretty much all set on a GX1 until I borrowed a friends NEX C3 and it was actually pretty good.
So now I'm a little bit stuck, the NEX we borrowed was used to shoot some roller hockey, indoors in a leisure centre, and...
Firstly apologies for the idiot question, whilst my dad was a motorsport photographer for a number of years back in the 70s he's not around any more so can't bug him for answers :)
Now at the moment I have an ok little point and shoot thing, but have been hankering after a DSLR or a Micro 4/3...
We've got Bruce Schneier coming in one afternoon soon at work and this link got sent around with the email :)
http://www.schneierfacts.com/
A few of them made me chuckle a lot, some are just s**t though.
Only IT geeks bother clicking the link else you will be sorely disappointed, and yes I am...
So after having had my shiny mbp for a few weeks I think I need something to cart it around in.
Can't decide on what to get though to protect it when it's sat in a bag, have people gone with a sleeve or one of the hard shell cases?
I bought one of the incase hard shell cases today and it...
I'm slowly replacing my ageing desktop with my MBP for everything, and the next hurdle I've come across is how to handle my email on it.
Currently I'm using some pop3 accounts for email, so my options are either use the inbuilt Mail program or Outlook as I've got Office 2011 installed...
Parallels plus 9 other apps available for $49.99 which works out at £31.
Parallels alone is normally £64 so not a bad deal for that alone
https://www.mupromo.com/
Why have I taken so long to try one of these out???
It's only a base spec 13inch MBP, but christ it zips along even with the slow crappy standard hard disk, and everything just kind of works :)
Needed a new laptop as my work/living situation is changing soon and this will do the job just...
Out of a 13inch MBP or 13inch Air which would you choose? Would you give the 11inch Air a look in too?
Pretty sure I want a laptop over an iMac, but can't decide which :(
The Air would do all I'd need it to, but would end up costing a bit more and not have the backlit keyboard.
MBP...
Looking to get a new point and shoot to replace my aged old Pentax and pretty settled on getting a Panasonic TZ8 as it looks to be a good all rounder with a huge zoom, alright wide angle etc.
Is there anything else at around the same price or less that would be worth looking at?
I was tempted...
Just been nosing through some old pictures I'd taken when I found this.
Was a lovely looking 5 Turbo 2 down a back street in Tokyo, think it was round the Shibuya area.
Can't remember if I posted it before but though some people might like to see :)
After over 5 years and 70k+ miles my beloved phase 1 has gone :(
Both the wife and I were gutted to see it go but felt it was time to move on, plus really needed something just a little bigger.
So I went and bought this
It's just a standard 2005 WRX in crystal grey.
Always wanted an...
I've got a slight niggle with my fuel guage, it's something to do with the connection.
Sometimes it's fine, but sometimes, and for no reason, it goes a bit nuts and stutters/forgets where 0 point is and keeps going round, past the max mark, almost 360 degrees :)
Whilst I'd like a car that...
Anyone here with Admiral or had any experiences?
Just had my renewal from Privilege through, they are normally pretty good but this year it just didn't seem great.
Popped the details into Admiral's site, £150 cheaper!!
Saw not 1 but 2 phase 1 172s at Broadmeadow leisure centre in Teignmouth tonight, about 9pm.
First was a monaco blue with private plate, phase 2 rear end I think and dark 182 wheels. And I think a Leon Cupra splitter.
Then saw a flame red one pulling away from the entrance, last bits of...
Looking at getting a new tv but really can't work out whether to get a 37 or 42 inch one :/
I've looked at the online things that say how far you should be from the tv and it's borderline, I'd say viewing would be about 9 foot away.
Worried that a 42 will just look too big, and if it feels...
Seems to be quite a few cheap sets of rear discs including the bearings on ebay for the 172/182.
As the rears don't do as much as the fronts are they worth a shot (most seem to be grooved and/or drilled)?
Or are they likely to be really crap with crap bearings?
Just a set with mintex...
So the external plastics on my ph1 are looking a little grey and faded, rather than back to black them all the time I'm looking to paint them up.
I picked up some black satin plastikote today (rattlecan), have tested it no a small bit of trim (the corner cover of the rear wiper that pops off)...
