I had 14" wheels on the RT and I had to upgrade to 15" to get the 16v setup to fit. However, companies say you need 16" wheels to get some 4-pot setups to fit and yet I've seen pics of them under 15" wheels... albeit with no space whatsoever... lol.
Tbh I would say no, but I may be wrong. ;)
AFAIK there is no performance difference, the silenced one is still straight through just it is wrapped to try and reduce the noise. Here is a pic of the silenced k-tec one...
But it does change the "note" of the exhaust. With a normal de-cat I find the sound has a slight rasp to it...
If the 106 GTI is similar to a VTS (same engine ain't it?) then that = Valver territory surely?!
Williams therefore, should beat the GTI and the VTS.
:S
I must say, even though I am not a Williams owner, with my Valver I think I kind of understand what people are saying about the "feeling" you get from these cars. I love the Valver, will always spend the money fixing it before thinking.
My mother, bless her! keeps saying why not trade it...
Peeps over at Williamsclio have been talking about this, there is a big thread on it. Basically I think there was talk of getting a batch made up for kinda a "group buy" scenario but I don't think anything came of it.... :(
I think it'll just be the pad compound and disc. Nothing really can be done. Strange you have problems with that setup though. I use the brembo max and mintex extreme pad combo and they squeel as well. I wonder if infact it's the discs causing the problems?
Was Friday just gone and I had followed you all the way from the Quayside onto Gateshead side via the Sage. We both started to give it the beans but you went under the flyover in Gateshead and I went over it. Lol. Gutted!
Nurburg sticker on the boot also.
I was in the Blue Valver behind...
Amir, quick question, where do you get the Renault badged centre caps from for the Turini alloys? When you buy the wheels, do they come with them? (I doubt it). Is there some special place where you can get them from?
Thanks! :)
Oh, one of mine...
Ah I see what you mean. So! If the car has the better manifold (by chance) then the extra mods will not really be worth it, well, pretty much un-noticeable.
Hmmm, luck of the draw really I guess then.
To the OP, save up and by a mahooosive turbo. Then everyone will be happy and the...
You get what I mean though, if the engine is down on power to begin with it may not respond well to mods. I'm not trying to say anyone's car is rubbish, no no. Simply saying not one car is the same as another. ;)
I think this saying sum's it up...
"You can't polish a turd". :dapprove:
Sometimes cars and engines respond well to mods, sometimes, they don't. (I think that's been iterated a few times in this thread).
Patrick,
The spongy brakes might be related to my issue also, which Chris H has helped me with.

Might be an issue with the Brake Pressure Regulator (Bias Valve).
Have a read through that thread, and see if it's similar to your...
In my experience Bosch (especially the Super 4's) are rubbish. I had them in the RT to replace the worn NGK plugs and the car ran rubbish, especially top-end. I took them out soon after and refitted some new NGK plugs and it was much smoother, started well too.
Now with the Valver, that's...
I don't think there is any other way to do it except under the car. I know when I've done both my mk1's (fitted leather) I've had to wiggle under the front and un-do the inner bolts. Well I say me, I really mean my dad. lol.
I was going to say, you blind! :rasp: Lol. But yeah, give him a try mate defo.
Looks like it's a 30 or so mile trip up the M42 for you. Not too bad a drive.
What about Nick at Hill Power, I'm sure he's around that area. Seems to know his stuff according to a lot of people that have used him. I'm sure he'd be a good choice.
Wow thanks guys. :)
Phoenix, I can try and look through the receipts and see where they came from for you?
Freebone, that's alright mate a few people don't really like them. However, I will be changing them back to the old one's in a few months time anyway. :)
Cheers again everyone.
Finally, some decent pictures instead of just ones on my drive. Lol. I did kinda go crazy and took too many, so these are my favourite ones. :)
Just a quick wash and dry, no waxing or polishing this time.
Cheers.

But, with regards to your question. The black stuff you just need to peal off. Then you need to go over it again when sticking the panel back on. I just used no more nails or equivalent sealent. :)
Just work your way around the panel easing it away.
