The standard 182 had to appeal to others than track and fast road drivers... which it did very well. Comfort, toys and pace, all in one amazing little package. It was a very worthwhile exercise IMO

You're hard to impress, hot hatches dont come much quicker than the 182 range. Yes, others have more torque lower down but they are as quick as anything when you're making progress into the 4000rm + zone. Do try a few though

Once it is warmed up, less the weight of another passenger, and then open it up and they really fly. Saying that, i recently changed from a 182 to the Trophy and the Trophy is an absolute stonker, it bl***y flies!!!! Seems to have more grunt both above and below 5000rpm, it's an absolute riot

they do give a slight change in engine tone but nowt much, and small gain in power but again wont be hugely noticeable

Two very different cars though really. You either want good-low down grunt from the VXR or a glorious high-revving N/A lump that is a blast to drive. Never driven the VX presonally, but mates who've tested them both say other than that extra low down torque, the Clio is just as quick and much...

Yeah i can see what russ is saying... Prices at the mo are on their arse for 182's, great for buyers butnot so good for us sellers. I've lost almost £1500 in one year on the 182 Russ just bought off me. Ah well... i think Russ will agree he got a good deal...!! Minus the rear brakes needing...

I'm amazed you think there's more torque and that its more responsive. I had one on mine for about 2 weeks in July but took it straight off again. Loads of noise but throttle response was PANTS despite a well placed and ducted CAF and it just felt so lethargic, especially in the summer heat...

yes just wash it again but make sure its done very well, polish left on a car CAN actually damage paint if mixed with water and left too long but it should just steam off with a good soapy wash

yes at this time of year unless you have a warm garage is a no no, the condensation that is generated just smears and it'll only get worse the darker and colder it gets. Get a good wet spray on wax for winter. Turtlewax do a good one. Nowhere near as good as hardwax but strikes a balance...
