Check the reluctor rings on the driveshafts and the rear discs. That's where the speedo signal comes from and I've had crudded up rings (ooh err) and sensors covered in swarf cause all kinds of weirdness
What a pain, I know the feeling of getting your car back and it still not being right. It happened pretty much every time I did anything to my old Megane

Yeah all the rings and sensors are now new and connections been cleaned. reading normal on live data when I have it plugged in on the OBD reader. The needle on the speedo looks like it gets stuck and judders so I’m hoping it’s the motor on the clock itself.
Appreciate it. Don’t suppose you have rstuner or clip for the airbag light? Happy to pay obvs.

When I took the car in to get the tyres swapped over I didn’t think to tell them not to overtighten the nuts. Anyway they may as well have welded them on it was so tight.
Frogjam to the rescue again and some fresh studs and nuts for peace of mind.
I’ve been chasing this wobble and turns out it wasn’t the wheels, £400 down the swanny!
and think I’ve found the culprit which is this 50p shaped spacer that looked like someone’s been playing frisbee with. Ordered a couple of new ones from pure and will fit next weekend to see if that solves it once and for all.
Anyway drove 300 miles to Newcastle and back yesterday and sans wobble over 70 it was great. The speedo even came back to life on the drive there. Then decided to stick at 70mph the whole way back.

New/used dash clocks arrived today so got straight on fitting them to see if my speedo issue was resolved.
BAM!! Sorted! I have unfortunately now added 15k miles to the car. Who thought the mileage built into the cluster was a good idea?
Also fitted new suede gaiter with blue stitching because. Oh and cracked the dash leaning on it so will have to glue that back together. I hate the flocked dash anyway. Might buy a spare one and cover it in Alcantara instead to match the roof and A pillars.
Took it for a drive to check everything over and I’m not sure if it’s the placebo effect knowing everything is working for once but the car seemed much faster.😅

Just stick your old clocks back in for now and see if you can find some closer to the mileage mate

I’m planning to send the originals off to get reconditioned. Found someone on fleabay. Interesting that it’s that easy to manipulate the mileage though.

Castle Combe was a blast. Drove 350 miles there via London for work and no issues.
First outlap and the whole thing cut out and lost power for a millisecond. @Myfanwyi took all of 7 minutes and 34 seconds to fix it. I left the go pro on by accident so timed it…
Engine cover had been pressing on the plug that goes onto the coil pack, a sensor had unplugged itself by the oil filter and id sandwiched the maf sensor at a weird angle when I did the coil pack. Anyway one of them of all of them were causing it. No issues the rest of the day
Car felt great on track, was pretty tentative myself knowing I had to get it back 250 miles but watching the footage from the GoPros I went from 1:37’s down to 1:33’s by the end of the day

Was debating sacking the whole thing off and selling but car has been so good this trip so next up is welding up the cill and undercoating for winter. Will need to get that plug seen to as well.

Something a bit less rough. My overnight (2 months) parts from japan (china) arrived today, so got excited and sacked off the rest of the work day to get them fitted. Need a little bit of moving about so I can actually reach the pedals and steering wheel, currently set to bradford RS3 elbow delete spec. This afternoons job.
Very happy with the quality considering they were a quarter the price of real recaros. custom logo on the headrest and custom blue stitching.

How much and what did you do for subframes? Always been a bit scared of trusting a random chinese factory with safety items, but they look really good.

Clio has barely moved since fitting the seats. Me and my dad went halves on a used range rover sport (he lives next door and is 70 so doesn't use it a whole lot).
Went to take it out this weekend and it decided to do the immobiliser fast flashing lock out the last few times that ive got in the car and wasted 30 minutes of my life before it decided to start each time. One I was picking up a takeaway and the f***cking thing was cold by the time I got home....
Got a guy coming to code a couple of new keys tomorrow, I only have 1 key so definitely worth having a spare regardless. If that doesn't solve it then I will send the UCH off to get reconditioned as well. Also noticed that my aftermarket stereo has stopped beeping when i turn the key off, I cant hear the thing over the exhaust anyway so will probably just pull that out with the UCH and get a blanking panel.

Car has been fine since the new keys were coded. Then on Wednesday I popped to the post office 5 minutes up the road in it and had the flashing immobiliser back!!! Then unplugged the battery and ended up with just a solid light, so RAC towed me home.
Since then I:
- tried the original key, nothing solid red light
- wiggled all the relays and fuses in the engine bay, tried new keys nothing solid red light
- replaced the decoder ring, tried new keys nothing solid red light
- tried the original key again and it fired it up first time, then tried the other new keys and again both worked fine again
Would be nice to be able to go for a drive and not have to be scared to turn it off for the fear it wouldn't start back up again!

Hard to say without looking. Basically, solid red immob light means key is recognized but communication between ecu and uch is not working.
last time i fixed similar issues, it was knackered wiring on the engine loom. I would start by checking the white engine bay plug for corrosion. Then check the twisted pair of can wires (white and purple) across the plug for continuity. If thats ok start checking the can wiring, power and earth from white plug to the ecu for continuity as the loom can break.
Also could be uch failing. Id send it away to dieselrepairspecialist on ebay for a once over.

Check the grommet on the firewall. I bet they've installed the alarm like on mine where they've left the grommet out like c***s

Had a little look through today and the grommet is there and nothing is damp all the wiring looked intact on all the connectors and nothing looked corroded. Just s**t loads of carpet glue on the firewall.
UCH should arrive with diesel pump repairs today/tomorrow so hopefully there’s something obvious there.
Tested all the fuses and they seem to be fine as well.
I did find a couple of random black wires in that area (speakers or something?) that weren’t taped up so I do wonder if that’s causing a short, now taped up

UCH back from repair. 24 hour turn around, thanks for the recommendation @Brigsy
He said there were no obvious faults but redid the 16 pin plug just to be safe.
Back in the car and it seems to have resolved all my other gremlins, so whether it was this or something shorting who knows but it appears fixed.
- no more random esc light
- no more airbag light on and off
- seems to have fixed the immobiliser issue but too early to tell
If I could have 12 months of no major issues that would be lovely! Planning plenty of track time in 2026.

Been a while since I’ve touched the car with the weather. MOT is coming up so have it a clean and a little spurt today.
- Started first time no problems
- Small oil leak from somewhere but oil level seemed fine just a bit of a rainbow on the drive where it had been sat
- rust bubble starting to form on the bonnet
- really need to get the rear arch painted and blended after the welding
- planning to get it serviced and all fluids changed (oil, gearbox, coolant, brake fluid) along with the MOT so it’s in fine fettle for the nicer weather seen as it spent half the summer in the garage getting sorted last year!!
Set about sorting the melted exhaust trims but the trimlok I bought isn’t wide enough. c**k. At least I know how to make it neater for the next time!
Overall scrubbed up well and looking forward to enjoying it this year, Croft and oulton park already booked in and will be at cliosport festival as well.
I am pretty sure I will be getting rid at the end of summer for something a bit more plush. Wife refuses to get in it and I fancy some European road trips in something engaging that isn’t the Volvo or range rover
