Hey all,
Almost 2 weeks ago my girlfriend pulled out of the top of my road and clipped the rear tyre/wing of another car. She exchanged phone numbers, addresses and registration plates, however not any insurance details as she didnt have them with her.
My girlfriend said she was happy to...
You should be fine, the problem ive just found is ive got 3 years NCB yet only been driving 2 years 10 months. Priviledge wont quote me if i select ive been driving 2 years, yet if i say 3 years its only £600. I phoned them up about this and they put me down as 2 years 10 months and it shot up...
Thats crazy.
Ive just got a quote with direct line and they say that if youre a student then you will be only covered for social, domestic and pleasure - NOT commuting?
How does that work??
I was having startup problems as you describe. I took the TDC sensor out and gave it a good clean and its been fine since.
The coolant sensor could be causing the car to feel sluggish as if its sending the wrong temp then the fueling will be out.
sh*t thats scary!!!
Imagine if your passenger had been getting something out of the glove box, goodbye neck!!

Whoops my bad just re-read that it was the seat airbag, still shouldnt be happening though.
Should be on the calipers somewhere. I think theres another way of tellin by how many bolts or something but cant remember what it is soz.
Could always take it to Nationals wholl do you a free brake test and then u can ask them what all the parts are...maybe :)
The silver tube takes in warm air from the engine to help with cold starts and to help it run smoothly until the engine is fulled warmed up.
That IK will be losing you power, your best bet is a replacement filter in the original box - or sort out a decent cold air feed and a heat shield.

Its a 99 Clio 1.6 16v.
Ive just been out and cleaned up the TDC sensor which seemed pretty dirty and it started ok after that. Will have to wait til the morning to see if it makes a difference.
Hi All
A few times over the last couple of weeks my car has refused to start in the morning. The rest of the stay it seems to start fine, but the first start it doesnt seem to want to go.
What happens is the engine turns over fine yet it wont fire. It normally takes at least 2 or 3...

Fight it all the way mate. Bollox to all the people that say just accept it.
99% of people hate speed cameras and as this is a supposed democracy they shouldnt exist.
Its been proven that they have no effect on reducing accidents as since cameras have been introduced figures have...

Ditto that.
Imagine if people that were fat...
I get that on my 1.6.
The first third disappears then the middle third is slow to go, then the final third is quite quick as well. I can fill the tank up and after 7 gallons it will almost be on the red even though there is 3 gallons still in there.

It all depends on your circumstances mate. Ive got a 10 month policy at the moment with Admiral and its fine.
Like everyone else has said the certificate will say 1 years ncb so everyone will accept it.
Theres some info here about 10 month schemes...
Itd be interesting to know how many of the 1.6 knockers above actually own one????
Ive had mine for just over a year and id highly recommend it. Mines a 99 1.6 and my dad has a 2003 1.4. We both agree that there is a noticeable power difference, especially when you get to 40+.
Also, most...
How can you find it a punishment?
Its a bit different cleaning your car to cleaning a moped ;)
I must admit its a chore but i only spend an hour or so on mine.
When buying stuff for a 1.6 16v 1999 clio do i buy the stuff that is for the 1.2/1.4 16v as thats the only model most catalogues mention.
Im looking at getting a filter and magnex probably.
Thanks
That sucks m8. Me and the missus work at Morrisons and someone reversed into her car on Monday. The boot had a big dent in it, number plate came off, lights for the number plate also popped out. Managed to repair it all myself except for the dent which i pushed about 90% of it out and looks ok...
I done a quote with elephant with regards to occupation for a laugh.
There was over £100 difference between a retail manager and a graphic designer!!!!
