As title I fitted brand new OEM discs and pads on the rear and today someone noticed a crack all the way down one of them! Main suggestion is a sticky piston which has caused the disc to heat up excessively? When I wound them back in it was a little tight but not bad.
Any ideas?
Just thought I'd post up my rolling road results from today at Monster Tuning in Telford. No idea if the curves on the graph are good so over to the tech guys on here ;)
I'm currently low on oil and require a quick top up for a drive this weekend. Usually I use Elf however I don't think I'll get any delivered before the bank holiday, am I ok to use another brand? I'm due an oil change soon so it's fairly short term.
Over the summer I removed my fog lights and arch liners for a track day. Since then I was lazy and never put them back until this weekend. Everything went back in ok however now they don't work? Could water have got into the plugs and caused damage? If so what's the best fix?
I recently bought a Saab 9-3 Estate and have noticed the rear quarter has been resprayed at some point. Upon closer inspection you can see where it's been masked off against original paint work! The overall finish is also a little duller than the rest of the paintwork and actually looks a bobbly...
Every year my car seems to fail on emissions despite replacing various sensors. It's had a replacement CAT around 3 years ago so I'd also like to think that's ok.
I was wondering about dumping some Redex in this weekend and booking it in for Monday. I'm not sure this will make a difference but...
After some great advice from the CS guru's about lenses I'm now after a printer.
Myself and a friend will be shooting equestrian events and uploading there and then to a laptop. The riders can then view the photos and we can print for them to take home.
This isn't by any means a big operation...
I've recently been shooting some equestrian events with the kit lens (55-300) and I find it to be very poor quality. It's the non IS version and shooting without a tripod gets some terrible shots!
I need to invest in a new lens with IS so get some crisper photos without the need of a tripod. It...
I'm coming round to the idea of replacing all the shocks on my 182 Cup as the cars now done 86k on the standards.
It's currently got Sportline springs which I'm happy with however I'd like a firmer shock to reduce the body roll. As i've got the 60mm spacing it rules out a couple of shocks so...
Has anyone got any experience of fitting Compbrake top mounts? I've got some to fit but I'm unsure on what size drill bit to use and also the correct position for them?
Apart from that I pressume it's just a case of taking the strut off as if I was changing the springs?
Looking into a new broadband package and Talk Talk or EE are coming out the cheapest. They both offer unlimited usage which is a must however due to my location I know it'll be slow at 1.5mb/sec.
The max I'm looking to spend is £20 per month including line rental which both of the above offer...
I'm planning on changing my brake fluid for some ATE super blue however what's the best way to remove the old stuff? I'll be using a Gunson Eezibleed kit for reference.

Moving house so clearing out the garage, must sell even if its for 99p!
I'm hopefully planning on gathering the parts up for a low pressure turbo conversion (230bhp) this year and have a few questions -
Can I still keep Cruise Control?
Will I need to a fit a Megane head gasket?
What's the best ECU to go for on a budget (and keep CC)?
Will I need a fly by wire...
Recently it's decided to develop a habit of hesitating when pulling out of juctions or accelerating. My first thought was the TDC sensor but I replaced that about 2 years ago along with the coil pack, surely they won't have died already?
My headlight has been intermittent for a couple of weeks now so I decided to have a look at the weekend and found the xenon igniter pins had corroded.
I've now obtained a new igniter however the remaining part of the old pin is stuck in the igniter plug. Any ideas how I can get this out...
Not known as making the best road tyres however will anyone be trying the new semi slick option? They seem to be a reasonable price at £78 a corner.

I've just ordered a full set of Rainsports to stick on my standard wheels, they currently have Hankook V12's fitted and they've been really good.
Just wondered if anyone else has moved from V12's to Rainsports or vice verser and noticed any differences?
Recently my drivers headlight has been misting up inside, I took a quick look and noticed the rubber cap was hanging off! After 30 mins of trying to refit I gave up, any tips on how to get it back on without cutting my hand off?
As above, both starting at 99p with no reserve :)

I've had my Turini's on my 182 for a couple of months now however I've started to get bored of them. I really like the oem look so don't want anything halfords style! What are my options apart from 2118's?
The car is lowered on Sportlines and no preference on 15's or 16's.
I'm currently having emissions problems with the MOT, it's passing the actual emissions test fine however the lambda reading it still high.
Today they fitted a new Bosch pre CAT lambda but it's made no difference. They also swapped the sensors around in the post CAT fitting and still had no...
I'm looking to change my discs and pads next month and I've got some Brembo HC's and DS2500's. My question is shall I also change to braided lines? What's the benefit? I was going to go for some that BTM supply (not sure of brand) but saw a couple of good reviews on here a while ago.
For some reason the setting to blow air onto your feet has decided not to work anymore. However when you turn off A/C you still get a quick blast of air on your feet?
Has anyone else had this problem or know what it might be?
I updated and installed the 98 Ron map last night using an rs tuner. All works fine and the map seems better however I now have no cruise control lights on the dash? The speed also doesn't show on the dash display but the cc works fine?
Anyone else had this issue?
