Hi,
Took my clio into renault today (only to have a new key programmed - no other reason I would go there!!) and after programming the key they told me they have noticed none of my brake lights work?!
Does anyone have any idea of what this might be and what the first places to check are? The...
Hi,
a few months back my key fell apart, I managed to put it back together using the plastic casing from another key and since then it has worked 90% of the time, intermittently not starting first time (red led light on the dash flashing)
Now strangely it just does this everytime I turn the...
Got a chance to take this Renault demonstrator home from work. I'll start with the pics:

I'm actually won over by the styling after really not...
Fitted some Eibach proline springs to this while I was off over Christmas. There's not much difference on the front but they have sat the rear down well (was on pattern part springs before and sat crazy high)
The ride quality is EXCELLENT and it has cut the body roll down dramatically too so...

Cheapest for sale from what I can see. Does 60+ mpg all day long this and we've owned it from nearly new.
Link now working.
Gents,
My key recently fell apart, it was in bits for a few days but since then I managed to get a new case for it off another clio.
I've transferred all the bits over (circuit board, transponder, battery chip, blade etc) - the car is locking/unlocking on the fob but won't start the car...
Having followed the guide on here, rear shock bolts are removed, car is jacked up on the rear beam, why are the springs not showing any signs of budging at all?
What have I missed lol??
Ladies and Gents,
Forgotten from when I had my first Clio how s**t the keys are.
My fob broke the other day as I was turning the key in the petrol cap. Since then it's just fell to bits!
Now I have a working circuit board, a straight key blade, but nothing to hold it together!! Meaning I...
On my pH1 172, the front passenger seat is stuck on the rail and will not slide either any further forward or back.
What could this be and how do I sort it?
Help appreciated,
Thanks,
Alex
As per the title guys,
Put my passenger side window down this morning and when I flicked the switch up, it just made a noise like it was trying to do something, but wouldn't. After a cold drive to work ive managed to pull the window up with my hands so that it's at least shut. The thing will...
Been a member on here for 4 years, owned 4 cars in that time and tinkered with them all but never bothered to put up a project thread so far.
Here goes then, had been wanting a Renaultsport Clio right since a young age. Finally I got one in Feb this year, perhaps not as tidy as I'd have liked...
Hi all,
Got a polybushed dogbone mount, are these easy enough to fit?
I've got the whole mount with the polybush in situe so don't need to faff about with that bit which I've heard can be a fiddle.
Is it just a case of getting under, unbolting the old one and bolting the new one in?
I don't...
Hi,
My 172,which has always felt very responsive and lively has got a bit sluggish seemingly in the last week or so.
I also notice it's a bit surgy or hesitant in the lower revs from cold, not that I ever take it past around 3.5k before it's warmed up anyway.
It's doing no better than about...
Ordered a gen Reno oil filter off eBay that said for 172/182/197, didn't bother checking before whether they were all compatible (daft I know)
Question is, do they all take the same size filter? The one that's come through looks tiny, like really shallow in size.
Cheers,
Alex
Hi,
I'm a bit stuck with this at the moment. I've discovered that the locking wheel nut key for my ph1 172 is completely rotten and rounded off, meaning I can't get the locking nuts off.
On my car I have what I believe to be the original set which are round bolts, with 4 circular holes in...
Alright guys
Looking to buy the parents one of these. Can anyone make any particular reccomendations or offer some advice on what to go for?
Many thanks!
Hi,
the alcantara inserts are a bit grubby on my PH1 172 (not my grubby arse I might add as I use a seat cover!)
Could someone please reccomend me a good alcantara cleaner. I seem to remember a Raceglaze one being well reccomended but can't remember if that's right.
Needs to be...
Hi,
Every now and then, my PH1 172 seems to have an issue with starting.
It cranks over as normal but won't fire into life when the problem occurs.
It's happened on about 3/4 occasions in just under 6 months ownership, everytime I've started to consider what might need replacing, within 10...
Hi,
Seen plenty of guides on here for removal of the inlet plenum, all of which however appear to be for a PH2.
I've hit a bit of an obstacle in the form of the throttle on the PH1, how is that removed so as the plenum can be taken off?
Pics would be good if anyone can.
Thanks,
Alex
Hi,
More head unit related woes!
My recently installed Alpine CDE-9880R won't remember any of my programmed settings or presets.
Before anyone says, I have tried the old trick of swapping the red and yellow wires around. I thought his had sorted it, because when I tried it, turned the...
Hi,
I'm experiencing difficulty getting my Alpine head unit to go all the way back into the dash and sit flush with the fascia. It seems the wires are getting in the way too much.
I've had this issue whenever I've fitted aftermarket head units in the past but always seem to have got round it...
Hi,
I'm sure I read somewhere on here before that pattern part rear shocks can make 172's/182's sit funny.
Looking at some of the PH1's on here, that aren't even lowered, they look noticeably lower on the rear than my PH1 does. It sits very high.
The car has had replacment rear shocks in the...
Hi all,
I know there's loads of you with iPhones on here that know them inside out. If you would be so kind as to educate me here it would be greatly appreciated.
I currently have an iPhone 3GS but have just taken delivery of a new 4S.
Is it possible to transfer from back-up, or otherwise...
Hi,
Went to start my 172 up this morning, turned the key to 2, heard the fuel pump prime, turned over fine but wouldn't start. Tried 3 or 4 times to no avail.
Could this be something to do with the key? I've heard of a few owners on here pressing the key button as they turn the ignition.
The...
Hi all,
Has anyone done this? What would be the best way of going about it?
Mine is rather tatty and it's annoying me slightly.
I was thinking of a sand down and paint but would want to get it as close to the original colour as possible.
Many thanks,
Alex.
I nomally despise aftermarket HID kits on cars that don't have xenons but as the PH1 has projector headlights anyway I'm claiming that is acceptable.
Anyway...can anyone reccomend a good supplier for them?
What bulb type does the PH1 require?
And any tips on where to place the ballasts, in a...
After wanting one for so long, and patiently making my way up with a couple of decent cars in between, I've finally bought one.
Here's the 106 GTI I impulsively decided to sell to fund the move:
Actually pocketed £500 out of selling the GTI and buying this, GTI's really command a premium...
Hi guys,
My mate is looking at a PH1 on autotrader (looks like both of us could be picking PH1s up this week!)
As per title, reg plate W752 WTR in silver...I'm sure I've seen the plate somehwere on here before. Also it has a couple of CS type mods like clear side repeaters and black badges...
Hi,
I'm looking for a point and shoot camera for around £100, willing to spend up to £150 max. The camera will be used for taking on holiday and taking snaps of my car mainly!
I've read good stuff about the Lumix range, came across this on ebay...
Hi,
