Dont do it. I went from an RB5 (not what youre looking at but just as an example) to a 172 Cup, mainly for running cost reasons, and the Cup genuinely did not feel much slower and was heaps more involving to drive on a proper road. I appreciate that boggo UK turbo models are hardly what many...
Prefer the worcester sauce ones myself :D
I could never buy a CTR as to my eyes they are so ugly, not unlike many of todays hatches. Great engine and box but look at what they go and stick it in. I agree with the peeps saying they would go for the Teg instead - much better on the eyes.
Nasty !
One thing I would say though is that if that were my car and it had starting making a noise like that I would definitely NOT have carried on driving it round for weeks. Having said that there is no reason an engine ought to be failing like that at such a young age/low mileage. Hope it...
EvilJohn -> I am from Bargeddie mate (close to Coatbridge and about 20 mins by train from Glasgow), still at least its cheap
Good point about the location of the laser detector, for the record its in the bottom right hand corner of the screen in the Focus more for tidyness of wiring...
Apologies in advance for the rant...
I should firstly point out that all of what follows relates to the use of my work vehicle for business use as I have not owned my own vehicle since late last year when I had to let my Cup go through lack of use.
Up until October last year I had...
Let him bring the whole f**king system down and stop persecuting us poor bloody motorists. For the record I was snapped recently on the A899 Livingstone (North of Lizzie Bryce roundabout) for doing 65 in what was a temporary 50 limit. The most annoying bit was that my Road Angel never even let...
Lol, same here. I picked up my old Impreza with barely any fuel in it and had no idea where the nearest petrol station was..... I can certainly think of better cars to be low on fuel in thats for sure.
Lol, their work is every bit as good as their grammar, I would not mind betting that it is down on power from standard... only a guess though ;)
Roamers car would be a much much better buy, at least you know it really does what it says on the label.
If it was on the other side of the road then youll be fine. This happened to me a while back and my g/f more recently. I am sure there is a proper technical explanation as to why it happens but I did see a van parked up and a couple of guys working on the one that flashed my g/f not many days...
The Alfa is fooking rapid - in a straight line (as long as its dry..) but then 3.2 litres should do the trick really.
Ought to arrange a bit of a Clio 182 v 206 180 RR grudge match... I suspect a lot of the Pugs would be well under the factory quoted bhp (assuming no mods of course). Surely...
It was always going to split opinion. Yes in a way it cheapens the Cup name but what it also does is bring the 182 to a wider audience. Doubtless there are a number of people out there that can not quite stretch to the regular (dare I say better?) 182 and for them this is a potential solution...
Theres nothing quite as satisfying as letting the salesman know that you have done your homework. When I went out in the RB5 I ended up buying the guy started to tell me about it being limited edition, I then went on to tell him precisely how many they had made - he had to move on to something...
I guess the cars do vary from one to another as mine has never felt overly twitchy. Yes the steering is very direct and you dont have ABS to fall back on but as long as you allow for these things and as said above take things a little easier in the wet then the Cup is a cracking affordable...
Mine currently has (and to my knowledge has never had any) of these issues and is for sale at the moment.*
Trouble is the world and his wife seem to be trying to sell their Cups at the moment too ...
*Gratutious plug attempt ;)
So from the sounds of it I might ave to either buy something dirt cheap to keep my no claims going or else get insured on the g/fs car. Still need to find out if we can both build up no claims on the one car (hers).
I currently have around 10 years (11 if I was to complete this insurance year) of no claims discount. As I m currently looking to sell my own car and not replace it I was wondering how long I could keep my no claims (Ill get a letter from Elephant stating how much no claims entitlement I have as...
The boring company car will be replacing it if thats the right word and as the g/f has a car too well manage with the 2 vehicles. A sad decision to be making but it is the only one that makes sense.
Well due to a change of job at work - one that gives me a company car - I am seriously considering parting company with the beloved Cup. Its not that I dont like the car (far from it in fact) but I am simply not using it enough to justify keeping it and someone else might as well get some fun...
