Went to take the clio for its MOT and it wouldn't start. The last time i drove it was a week ago.
Engine turns over fine but it just wont fire.
Am I right in thinking its probably the TDC sensor? I there an easy way to tell if it is this before spending £60 on a new one?

My steering rack has developed some play in it and its causing a slight knock around wheel centre. It's been on some ramps today so we are pretty sure its the rack. My question is can the pinion be adjusted to take up any slack.
According to a manual I have the SMI rack has an adjustment nut...
Girlfriends dad has a Clarke CP180 which he's hardly ever used. I was hoping it would be good enough for minor correction etc?
If it is what backing plates, pads and polish would people recommend I get to start with? Car is Iceberg silver and I would also like to use the polisher to revive...
When cornering hard in either direction I get a creaking noise from the drivers footwell. It can't be the trackrods the track rod ends or ARB bushes as they have been replaced.
Any ideas what it could be?
Car has done this a few times lately. When I first get in and start the car it fires first time BUT the revs normally drop right off and it stalls. Then the second time it starts perfectly.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

I got a new aerial kit from Renault today and the base is circular instead of the oblong shape the original one is.
Is this because I've been given the wrong kit or because Renault have changed the design?
Am changing my track rods this weekend and have just read about a locking washer that goes between the rod and the rack. How important is it that these are replaced?
Need to remove my track rods this weekend whilst the rack is on the car. Are there any good tools for the job?

Car has developed an odd problem. When the car hasn't been driven for a while the steering makes a knocking noise when I turn left and then immediately right.
If the car is stationary and I wiggle the steering wheel a few inches in either direction I get a knock when the wheel is returning...
Planning on wiring up my x-mas presents tomorrow. The sub came with 10 gauge power and earth cable. Is this suitable considering its only 200w? I'm never really sure on these things.

When the cars cold and I start the engine I get a squeal for about 1-2 immediately as it fires up.
It only does it when the engine is cold. Both belts and the power steering pump were done in October. It's got power steering fluid etc and drives perfectly fine.
Could this just be moisture...

Love the sound of my stealth 90% of the time. On the motorway it can be a bit too boomy though.
Would reducing the tail pipe exit from 2.5" to 2.25" help reduce this or would I be wasting my time?
