RE-POSTING 24 SEPT UPDATE AS PHOTO'S WENT WRONG
Wasn't happy with the blue induction / reducer adaptor set up, thought I wouldn't be happy with anything other than the BMC CDA, until I tried this out..
KTR's induction kit, in black, which fitted the bill perfectly
Gave the filter a good clean with some spare pipercross foam cleaning fluid, and replaced the worn looking jubilee clips
A tight fit, battery did need to come out
Really does sound the nuts though..
Has a slightly less deep note than the BMC but an almost TB type note to it, and really opens up on 5K !
The engine was becoming a little unhappy in the mornings, engine code of pre-cat lambda sensor.
Went for a direct to OE plug Bosch fitment one, came with the plastic fitting clip and pre-greased
This old one was unbranded, had been cut and wire joined (obviously cheap universal one)
Rattled like mad once it was removed!
Whilst I was there, replaced an exhaust mount bolt as the other one turned to cheese..
Had an intermittent problem with the left indicator bulb. After time with a multi metre, some forum help from CS.net with pin outs, was down to a pin in the plug dislodged from the slightly
Bit of experience with stripping the clocks, will come in handy for an White LED conversion one day... !
Ally footrest from
Dan@MAD
Old one broke on removal lol
Replaced a rear seat belt buckle that gave up
Deleted the charcoal box/carbon canister thing and did the pipe work
Got another Cup airbag module after having an airbag light since having the car due to a defective module
Thanks to
Dan@SJM for sorting the configuration out!
The last tax disc for the car... Better do it neatly!
Standard size BSAU plates in prep for MOT
Reduced the camber due to the other Nankangs scrubbing out rather quickly
Down to 0.5 degrees now and towed to match, less silly slow wheel spin pulling out of uphill junctions
New set of T1R's to match the rears again
Thanks to G_172 from CS.net for getting these brakes to me within a couple of days:
Brembo Front Pads
Brembo Rear Pads
Brembo Rear Discs
Renault Rear Disc Spacers
Replacement Rear Hub Nuts
I also have had an as new set of Brembo Max Front Discs sat around for a while collecting surface rust so dug these out while I was there
Decided to also get hold of a rear pad fitting kit.. A good thing to as mine unbelieveably had NO SPRING RETAINING CLIPS FITTED!
I have no idea how the pads have stayed in, made me feel a little sick..
So... old, worn, bumpy feeling, scoured, and warped feeling brakes
Passenger side I had to use a lump hammer to remove for 25 minutes, hard, didn't feel great, then the bearing let go of itself
Spent some time cutting the remainder of the bearing off.
The reason for this side being such a pain was probably because the disc spacer was missing!
New bits
The drivers side almost fell loose as soon as the nut was off
Reason... this side had a spacer fitted
However.. note the rubber seal bulging out.. seized rear caliper
Spent some good time cleaning this up while it was extended out fully with small wire brushes and good glass paper and smoothing then whacked in a seal of copper grease to get it going again
