However, on PH1's you have holes behind the Renault Sport badges I believe? So may gave to address these first?

Not sure. You've got me thinking now! Will have to find out. How did you get the old ones off? I'd have thought they would leave a mark around them?

My bootlid was from a non sport but usually I use dental floss so not to damage the paint.. never fails to disappoint, or fishing cord perhaps a little stronger, then a toffee wheel or lots of AG tar remover and patience with a credit card or something then polish it up..

Clio ones are clipped into locating plugs though so you should be able to pop them off if you are careful, perhaps then remove the plugs from the bootlid and then stick the badge on and hope it covers the holes

Thanks George, top service from yourself as I said, very impressed..

Which is less than I can say about Photobucket... I only created an account a few months ago, and I seem to have maxed out the bandwidth and storage already despite the pictures automatically set to resize 640x480 forum friendly small size... It also screws up the order of photos every upload!

Anyone have any recommendations?

They were there earlier and car looking lovely Chris.

Proper spray job, I persume full strip and rebuild judging by the engine bay :)

i cant believe that renault never did a glacier white 172/182.

No, they mean you've exceeded your bandwidth on Photobucket.

Personally I use dropbox for my photo hosting, it's far easier.

I only created an account a few months ago, and I seem to have maxed out the bandwidth

;)

I know, account says it will reset in a few weeks :S only way to sort it is pay a monthly/yearly fee.. no thanks photobucket !

I will look at dropbox for the next thread update... !

The big ... MOT TIME
20140922_125350_zps3d21f8e1.jpg

Passed first time
However was asked a couple of things before they did the advisories on the computer:
1: Exhaust system isn't a standard item - ORLY?
2: Handbrake only just efficient - Put this down to the new brakes, he agreed they had not even worn in yet
3: Xenons - Asked if I fitted them and because I had did, these were 'retro fitted' so no washers came from factory, so would pass?
4: Modified rear brake compensator - Cup rear brake set up lol
5: Suspension is lowered - Oh?
6: Brake pipe corroded - The only real advisory ?!
SAM_1015_zps3d07e526.jpg

So with all that out the way, back on with the narrow plate and a wash before tucking it in for the evening

They weren't happy with it being lowered to be fair.. splitter was ever so slightly bending, good thing it wasn't a Cup/Carbon one!

Took it to another place before this MOT but they called me 1/2 hr after drop off to tell me the sliding jack wouldn't go under it on the ramp so couldn't MOT it unless I raised it up..

Horn - Mine was the earth connection
Broken Spring - Cheap as chips for another set
Brakes - G172 !

Get it sorted dude, Renault's get expensive if you don't sort things out, otherwise you end up with a huge to do list, tackle it as it comes ;)

:up: Thanks dommy, I feel my cars as always a little more special outside of the forums as most of it's been seen before or the pictures don't really show it off.. I think that's why I try and photograph it so much!

Fell off the radar with this one I'm afraid Callum :hushed:

Still have the hose, adaptor, and BMC though, but unsure if you wanted it as the size was wrong for a Clio, you could always chuck it on with the adaptor and see if you are happy with it but the adaptor spoils it a little TBH

If not, then could do a deal with the LED conversion or something? Be cheaper than me buying a decent iron, materials and bits and pieces. I was planning the full conversion though (dash, switches, heaters, clocks, interior lights etc)

Well I've got 50 LEDs so I'd imagine there's enough, although I haven't taken apart the door switches etc so don't know how bad they'll be. Drop me a message about that deal and we'll sort something out :)

Moving on, finally a wheel change!

A friend snapped these Turini's up and planned to refurbish them with track tyres. Initially I wanted the T1R's for my wheels but ended up doing a swap deal

Bin the T1Rs. Shite tyres. I should know, I have them.

Nothing wrong with Toyo's IMO, of course they are no Pilot Sport Michelin's but still I've always been happy with them, and I've tried many different tyre / wheel / engine combos over the years!

If the cars set up correctly I've always found they take a good beating ;)

Whats the deal with the 5? Needs a thread!

Has a thread on another site, however not been touched for some years now! Couple of clips on YouTube of the build but again these are out of date by a mile!

What a thread! Just spent god knows how long reading through the entire thing and seeing it before and how it is now is, for me, what project threads are all about. The little details that most people would just shrug off. The car is looking great mate keep up the good work (and updates!).

 Thanks Jesus!

It's like a personal journal for my car, I do end up previewing most posts and removing a lot of the writing as pictures do the talking! I'm far from finished with it but then I don't think my cars are ever finished  Would like 182/Treadlines interior really but would want it immaculate!

I love the Williams but they need 195/45 tyres, spacers and more lows on this to pull it off I think.. The Turini's always do it for me.. just the worst colour, can't stand black wheels on road cars generally !

Wow, what a thread!

Just read from start to present..completely transformed the car. Far from my cup of tea when you first brought it but the attention to detail is unreal it now looks awesome!
I've had a few friends buy cars in the past and later found things like you have, completely agree on "why do people do things like this" and Sh*t bodge jobs. Hats off to you for the patience.

Also, need to see more pictures of the 5. My brothers owned 2 TG's and a black one.. always loved them.

Any of those would look good Chris, but Silver would be my choice

Indeed, the White I think would be inpractical for road use, if I had extra cash I would be tempted to run another set of Turini's in the summer in bright white but can't really justify that.

Trophy colour is most likely, however I wouldn't mind a photoshop of silver as well..

Anyone willing?

Cannot beat the character of a 5 though.. I've had a few but this is my first GT Turbo, however one previous campus did have a complete GTT subframe bolted up (drivetrain/engine etc).. that was huge fun even with 14 psi on the T2 turbo

Coming on leaps and bounds!

Happy to help mate, looking good and nice to see the inspiration you've taken, and good work on finishing the centre clock, next on my list so we might need to hook up again :)

Interesting that you had to notch the interior light out though to fit the SMDs, the panels I had (all used now!) fitted perfectly, looks like finding more is going to be a pain!
