Me and Rexy went taking some pics yesterday so i though i'd post them up. Check out the seats they feel like barstools but they are like new
I used it for work yesterday and god knows how you lot cope using them as daily drivers 4k revs on the motorway doesn't make for a very relaxing...
I've found what seems to be the perfect ph1 so i'm going having a look at it tommorow. I don't really want another clio but if this is as good as its been made out i'll have to buy it. I'm not going to post a link yet but i'll post pics if i get it tommorow.
May be on for owning my 3rd ph1 clio.
I'm looking to get the car insured for trackdays and road so i'm waiting for a call back from this comany. It sounds like it could be good if it covers me for track use.
Oh its for the fez pop rally car.
I bought this spur of the moment and have just got it home. Its a 1980 1.3 fiesta ex rally car. Its got 6 point cage, omp seat, sabelt harness, polybush mounts, bilstien dampers, xr2 drilled and grooved disks, fuel tank guard, sump guard. The shell is pretty solid and was resprayed about 18...
A few of pics from today its not clean and its not got tire shine but its done over 1000 miles in the past week so it deserves to be dirty. It went to london on saturday for a bit of a mooch.
I think the back needs to come down a little as it looks a little too nose down in the pictures.
As the clio is for sale i thought i'd start the process of getting it spotless. It's only had a coat of Auto Glym Ultra deep shine up to now but it's already starting to look good :)
Excuse the back street i couldn't be bothered driving elsewhere. I'll be getting up on axle stands...
After 116k miles and 10 years it passed with no advisories. I'm really happy with that :) It goes to show that high mileage is not always a bad thing.
Super clio
Today me and Jonff went for a drive round Wales so i thought i'd post a couple of pics i took. I didn't take many as tbh i was having too much fun driving to stop and mess around with the camera.
The pictures
I gave the clio a quick wash today as i've been using it daily for the past week. Since it was quite clean i thought i'd get some pics of it. I've been undecided what to do with it recently and was thinking of selling it an going back to one car but i've started to enjoy it more now it has an...
I'm really happy in the three years i've owned ph1 172's i've always had a blue flame cat back system and its been noisy and droned well today i've fitted a standard system and i never realised the clio could be so civilised and nice to drive. I'm really impressed i just hope it doesn't fall off...
I've had a quote for £180 for front and rear disks and pads. Does anyone know anywhere cheaper or is that the best i'll get? thats with the bearings pressed into the read disks.
I've been offered a standard exhaust of a 172 cup as i need an exhaust for my ph1 as the back box fell off (blueflame cat back system 2.5 inch) will it fit or can i make it fit with a little work?
My Blueflame died today after nearly 4 years so i either need a back box or possibly if i can find a quiet system thats not restrictive i'd go for that.
I don't want a yozza sport as its two raspy and the one my mate fitted looked like a rage universal backbox.
It runs well and sounds good...
Has anyone on here made their own? I want one for mine for when i'm doing singletrack roads and the odd little jump. What did you use and was it pretty easy? I've seen it done on other cars i just wondered if anyone had done it for their clio.
Right i'm a country lane warrior and i'm in a major dilema now. The car is a ph1 172 on eibach sportlines and at the minute i'm really struggling keeping ahead of my mates evo on tight twisty roads. I can't go into the corners as fast and i can't get out of them as quick either.
Now will...
Getting insurance in the BL postcode is becoming near impossible now as most companies are point blankly refusing to cover cars in that area. What the f**k are we supposed to do? obviously i've bought insurance but no wonder everyone runs round with out it. £1300 for two policies at 27 with full...
As the vectra is up for sale i thought i would stop putting miles on it and use the clio for daily purposes. I'm really not looking forward to this as i work at silly times so i'm going to wake the neighbours and no doubt get plenty of attention from the police as they are the only cars i see on...
I'm considering getting an mr2 when the vectra sells if i like driving them. The plan is to concentrate on uprating all the handling while running standard power and getting used to rear wheel drive then after a while going straight for the stage three turbo kit pushing 240-260bhp at the rear...
I've just put my car up on pistonheads if anyone is interested. It'll be sad to see it go but its time for a change.
Anyone looking for a quick diesel which is cheap to run and tax should seriously consider it. Its suprising how well it drives and handles, its perfect for a nice comfy run...
I've finally put the clio back on the road. To make it feel a bit more loved as i was going to sell it i have done some bits to it over the past few days. I've fitted the phase 2 dash, taken all the stickers of, got rid of the sport badge and painted the other two black. I've still got to do the...
It seems that a lot of insurance companies are not interested in the Bolton/Manchester area. I rang Sky insurance and they told me they would not cover a clio 172 in the lancashire area so i tried just getting temp cover again they wouldn't cover it. In the end i ended up paying £630 with...
Just a few pictures of it. I love this car and really wish it was mine. Its currently running a very conservative 190bhp @ 12 psi M.S.D say that with the current spec the engine is more than capable of running safely at 22 psi.
The car is not clean (well for this car) and its night time but...
Who has done it and what tips do you have? When taking the ph2 dash out there seemed to be far more screws holding it on than the ph1 dash. Also do the wiring connectors all interchange or will i have to cut and splice ph2 connectors onto the ph1 wires?
Right as it stands my phase 1 is currently stripped out with 1 bucket seat. I was going to use it for european roadtrips and the ring but i much prefer the vectra so i'm going to sell it. I'm not sure what to do wether to advertise it as it is and hope someone wants a stripped out warrior or...
Only a quick wash then a couple of pics. I'm in the process of getting it ready for a european road trip and i've only got the 314mm brake upgrade to do now. I wanted the 345mm vxr brakes but it means changing to 18's and i'm not doing that.
Any way pics
Not to bad for a reps car oh...
Whats needed to convert a phase 1 front end to none sport spec? is it just front bumper or do i need to swap wings aswell?
There are a couple of reasons for wanting to do this, ph1 172 bumpers are rare and very expensive from renault so i don't want to smash mine up while battering round back...
Who's got the lightest? Mine currently stands around the 940kg mark but i'm aiming to get it down to around the 850kg mark.
if you have had it weighed what have you done to get it down to that weight? Currently i've removed
all interior
head lining
dash
started cutting wiring in the loom
i...
